ACTIVITIES

UP Agribusiness Society, commonly known as BISOK, has a wide range of activities that aims to promote its advocacy and meet its organizational objectives.

DAM ORIENTATION

As the only recognized DAM-based organization by the Department of Agribusiness Management -UPLB, the UP ABS assists the Department in the freshmen orientation. Here, UP ABS gives away copies of its official newsletter "The Pillars" - which is especially tailored for BS ABM freshies. UP ABS members also share their experiences, insights and tips to the freshies.

EXCLUSIVES PARTY

Like in the world of business, it is important to have strategic alliances with other firms and/or parties in order to optimize UP ABS is a member of the alliance among the exclusive organization in the College of Economics and Management together with the UPLB Economic Society (ECONSOC) and the UP Agricultural Economics Circle (UP AEC). UP ABS members have the privilege to bond with the other exclusive orgs and widen their social circle..

CEMPLANGAN

UP ABS participates in the sports and talents league organized by the CEM Students Council.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Being an acad org does not only limit the organization within the context of academics and university issues. And with that, UP ABS also reaches out to the community by participating or initiating socio-civic activities. In this way, the members will be exposed to the different real life situations in the community.

SYMPOSIA & TRAININGS

The organization hosts a series of course – related symposia and trainings to further en-rich the Agribusiness concept. This usually runs within a couple of months.

SEMESTRAL MGT 101 QUIZ CONTEST

UP ABS also hosts the annual MGT101 quiz contest (Dynamics and Concepts of Man-agement). This is open to all students who are currently taking up MGT 101 subject or students who have already finished it. It is a fun way of reviewing for an upcoming MGT101 exam or indulging one‟s curiosity.

CLASH: INTER-HIGH SCHOOL CONFERENCE

Aside from that, it also holds the Inter-high school agribusiness conference : CLASH an academic event intended for high school students. This conference includes quiz contest, essay writing contest, impromptu public speaking, poster-making contest and others. This activity also aims to promote agribusiness management and entrepreneurship among high school students. Career orientation is also a highlight in this conference.

PATALASAN SA PATALASTAS (PSP)

Patalasan sa Patalastas or PSP s a university-wide quiz contest held every anniv week.

As a part of Marketing, a business aspect, the contest promotes the essence of advertising in the field of business.

COMMERCIO: A TRADE FAIR

It is also important to showcase the many opportunities in the Agribusiness sector so UP ABS hosts this trade fair, usually during its anniversary month.

INTRA-ORG ACADEMIC MONITORING ACTIVITIES

As an academic organization, it is vital for UP ABS to ensure academic excel-lence within the members. As ways of assessing and strengthening the academic standing of the members, there are activi-ties conducted like the Perper (Perfecto y perfecta) and the PFE or the pass or fail exam.

SOCLYMPICS & SOC TRIPS/BONDINGS

Aside from strengthening the ac-demic standing of the members, likewise, the bond among them is also nourished by having the Soclympics, usually a preparation for the CEMplangan, a sports and talents event among the CEM – based organizations, but at the same time, a bonding activity for the organization. The same is true with the Soc field trip where the members break from the seriousness of the classroom walls and go out for a trip.

GRAND OPEN TAMBAYAN

Being an organization is not just be-ing into a club but a family. That is why bonding with the members is cool way of discovering yourself and the members of your family in the university. And we are extending our happiness as family to the university constituents during our Open Tambayan every anniversary week. It is where university people are welcome to visit, chat and dine with us at our tamba-yan.

TOKYO UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE (TUA)

INTERNATIONAL BIOBUSINESS MANAGEMENT PHILIPPINE PRACTICE

Every semester, the members of UP ABS are given the chance to interact and share their insights to the TUA students. Some of which is through a pep talk between UP ABS members and the TUA students where in they are given the chance to get to know each other and share their culture and ideas. Biobusiness presentation critiquing is done at the end of their stay as part of the closing activities. The UP ABS members serve as judges and critiques.

The Nodai students also take part in the MGT 101 quiz contest organized by the UP ABS, which is held every semester.

ABSTRACT: UNIVERSITY-WIDE ORG SHIRT DESIGN COMPETITION

Open to all UPLB based organizations, fraternities, sororities and bloc assemblies where participating parties flaunt their respective org shirt designs.

INDUCTION & GRAD BALL

New set of members and officers are inducted. Afterwards, the BISOK graduates are honored through a tribute.
